A Perfectly Witchy Costume

I have a special treat for you.

My favorite young lady (our granddaughter)  is joining us to model a super cute witch costume.

She is interested in theater and I thought maybe she would like this opportunity. (I asked her parents if this was ok and they agreed that she could make her modeling debut on the blog.)

I was going to model the dress, but decided that she would make a much cuter model than I would. And she looks much better with a green face than I do!

Disclosure: The costume, which includes the dress, petticoat and witch hat, was provided to me by Oriental Trading. The review is mine.

I am having a Witches Tea at my house later in October and I wanted to  have something really cute, and authentic to wear.  I began searching the OT website and found just the thing.

This polyester dress reminds me of the mean old witch from The Wizard of Oz. Puffy sleeves. Peplum waist. High collar. Back zip. I really like it and ordered it because of its classic movie "witch" style.

To make the modeling session more authentic my daughter added her well worn broom. ha!

The dress is well made with perfect style details.

This is the hat that comes with the costume. One could add accessories and netting to make the hat a bit more ornate, depending on how one would want to bling it up.

The skirt has an A-line shape, for ease of walking. My model is 5' 3" tall and there are several inches to spare. So, it would be fine for a much taller lady. There is a size chart with the costume listing.

Our almost thirteen year old was very brave to step out into the neighborhood for a photo session. She used to not like having her picture made. :-)

I told her that I would share the outfit with her...and while she probably will not be "trick or treating" this year, she can have fun handing out candy to the youngsters who stop by for their treats.

Thank you Miss S for helping with this fun post.

And thanks to Oriental Trading for the dress.

We had a fun photo shoot at my house before she had her long hair bobbed. :-)  The new hairdo suits her middle school style.

Are you getting ready for the little goblins to arrive at your front door?

I just love the fun of Halloween. The decorating. The candy. The fun of dressing up little ones. It lets me kind of lets me be a kid again when all of the new Halloween stuff appears in the stores.
