When Inspiration Strikes

I was dusting and cleaning house on Monday and placing things here and there. And then inspiration hit. ha!

I grabbed a tray, a tea towel, and a pitcher of flowers.

My daughter gave me this sweet tea towel. And I just happened to notice today that the green ruffle, embroidery, and my green chippy tray are similar shades of green.

My old English ironstone...it is always somewhere nearby.

I added the white candlestick and bunnies to go with the white ironstone.

I do not have very many rustic chippy decor pieces...but this green chippy tray is my rustic go to.

Just that quickly I had a new trayscape! Inspiration can strike suddenly and from nowhere. I am always glad when it does.

Sometimes I can have a dry spell, inspiration wise. It happens. I just try to get busy doing other things and then hopefully I will have an idea like I did today.

It's just a simple idea.

And sometimes simple ideas are just the thing!

I hope this post inspires you to put together a pretty trayscape today, with some things you have in your house.

Grab a tray and a few items...And let's see what you can do!

I took these photos in the dining room with afternoon light. I like the play of light and shadows.

I was lucky...sometimes the lighting is just right for the look you want. :-)

Have a wonderful day!

  8. Sheila, you vignette is lovely. I think the tea towel is better suited for display than use. It's just too pretty! I love the quote too! It was popular when I was just graduating from college, and I always felt it was so appropriate.
