How To Decorate With Trays

How many of you all are snowed in today?
Kentucky got its first snowfall.
And while I was bracing for several inches we only an inch or so in south central KY.
Yay for me!
On the upside, we have lots of groceries in the house.
Today is chili day.
Grab a beverage and sit with me a minute.
I have gathered pics of my trayscapes to share with you.
If you are snowed in, grab a tray and make a trayscape! 😊
A trayscape can be the perfect centerpiece.

In case you have not noticed, I have a thing for trays! :-)

Fancy, plain, rustic, elegant, silver or wood...I love all of them.

Give me a tray and I am a happy camper. The ideas just begin to whirl around in my head as to what I can create.
Here are a few "trayscapes" that I did in 2016.

I hope that you might find an idea or two to try in your house.

A try can be dressed so many different ways...depending on the room, the occasion, and the season. It's fun to play and create!

The tray forms a stage for several different items that might otherwise seem like clutter on a table top.

In the case of the tray above and below the tray makes the centerpiece seem larger.

A tray contains several items into a grouping, making a strong statement.

Tray groupings can be simple or over the top. It depends on what you put on your tray. You could use sea shells, to pine cones, to special figurines that you collect.

I like to stack trays for additional height.

Cake plates are one of my favorite "trays" on which to display food or décor.

A plate can be used as a tray if you do not have one handy. You can turn any flat item into a tray...from a piece of wood, to a mirror, to a plate.

And of course...trays are good for food!

  7. Yes, I love trays too. It's funny to think about the old days before we gathered our goodies on trays. It's all just so much more put together and cohesive with a tray. :)
