Another Tray for My Collection

Confession time. I have been naughty.

While out Christmas shopping I saw this lovely tray.

I normally go for the pearl edged pieces...but the silver glow of this tray just grabbed me.

I thought...what a perfect tray for hors d'oeuvres, or bread, or meat, or even ornaments.

I tried to resist it. I really did.

But look at the handles. Look at the shape.

I decided this piece was just going to have to come home with me. There would be no regrets!

I was going to give in this one time, and buy something for "me."

The back story is that in previous years I have had a bad habit of shopping for me or the house, while shopping for others. But this is/was my year to break that habit. I have done well...except for this one purchase. :-)

I love the detail on the handles.

What would you have done?
Or maybe I should not ask. :-)

These metal serving pieces can go into the oven...which is great for items that need to stay warm. They are not just pretty faces!

This is not a sponsored post...
I am just showing you my new purchase.

I have been a good girl...just had this one slip.

These easy care pieces are fun to use.
They look great on a buffet or a dressier holiday table.

I will even go so far as to say that mothers might find their kids wanting them passed down.
The quality is impeccable!

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!

  1. I think we all buy for ourselves at this time of year! Why not, it is the best time to find beautiful things that you normally would not see! I know what you mean about cutting back on what we buy for ourselves. I have been very bad! I purchased a cute little white furry stool for my neice and decided I just had to keep it! I also treated myself to a new tray for vignettes on the Ottoman in front of the sofa!
    Merry Christmas!

  2. Sheila, since you have some guilt over buying such a lovely tray, you could gift it to me. I love it and it would have come home with me too.
To break a habit, you have to do it in stages. Just one thing per season sounds reasonable. LOL.
    Merry Christmas

  3. Oh Sheila, you are a girl after my own heart. I love, love, love that tray! I'm so glad that you didn't pass it up because you certainly deserve to have all the pretty things in the world. I have a newly founded silver phase and couldn't resist a silver vase that I found in a consignment shop. And I'm not sorry that I bought it for myself. I will cherish it and use it over and over through the years in different ways. I love your blog and your decorating style. Merry Christmas to you.

  8. Beautiful tray! Hey, you had to buy it. By the time you got home and told your husband you would love to have and he went back to the store, it would have been gone. Don't you think that's logical? ha! Happy Christmas!

  10. I agree it is really pretty and useful. If we don't buy something we really want, who will? Our gift to ourselves.
