Time for Turkey, Dressing, and Pumpkin Pie

I wanted to make a quick post to wish each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving day. Whether it is a small gathering or one with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins...I wish you a good day for counting your blessings.

Our daughter will not be joining us this year, but our son, his fiancée, and my parents will be coming Thanksgiving night. Since they will have already had Thanksgiving lunch earlier we are fixing a simple evening supper at our house.

My house is part Fall, part Christmas, and part mess as I type this. I hope to get things under control on Wednesday.

My Christmas tree is up...but no ornaments yet. The twinkly lights are pretty anyway!

I will be packing away everything fall and getting serious about Christmas on Friday morning. No shopping malls or black Friday adventures for me.

Here are a last few snippets of what fall has looked like around my house.

Bye to the pumpkins, orange, and other fall colors.

It is time to jump into the holly jolly days of the Christmas season...but not until we have filled up on turkey, dressing, and pumpkin pie.

This bit of turkey advice (above) was posted on Instagram. I liked it and thought you might get a chuckle.

Here are a few pics of my Thanksgiving table coming together. I have a bit more to do...but I took a break from dusting and table setting to include these pics. I will try to do a full post on my table setting another time. :-)

I started with my table on Tuesday...It takes me a while to figure it out.

I added greenery, faux fruit, and pine cones for a natural look.
I added some candle tapers since it will be sunset before we will be dining.

More to do to complete this table setting, but I will get there.
I thought you might like a peek.

It's a busy day!
Hubby is making sausage balls as I write.
I am about to get up to begin a cake, but first I need to get out of my pjs. ha!

Do you clean the house in your pjs?
(The ultimate clothing.)

I am participating in two fun blog tours after Thanksgiving. One is all tablescapes and the other is all home tours. I hope you come for virtual cookies and punch as well as some virtual fellowship. Women are so social...and I love that I have a way to connect with all of you,

I am so thankful that you all come to visit me every week to see what I am doing. This empty nester life lets me dabble in this and that. Thank "YOU" for being my blog friend!

Remember... gobble till you wobble!
