My Thanksgiving Table 2016

We had a lovely Thanksgiving evening hosting my parents, son, and his fiancée.

Since it was the second meal for everyone else we opted for more of a simple supper. It was more about having time together as a family. Though the carb overload was delicious!

Beginning with a blank slate...a freshly dusted table.

I shared a few pics of my table a few days ago while I was in the process of putting it together.

I have to say that I think this tablescape works for not only fall/Thanksgiving but the Christmas season too...if you want to copy it. :-)

I began with a folded ivory tablecloth as my table runner. I then added branches of faux pine greenery. If you have fresh that would be even nicer. After the greenery I chose to make a bow and ribbon to tuck into the greenery.

I added candlesticks and tapers since we were eating after sunfall...around 5:00. ha!  Everyone looks wonderful by candlelight.

I love love love to decorate with pine cones...large and small.

I was not sure if I wanted to use natural or green placemats, but I went with green ones to blend with my greenery.

Remember to include various colors and textures in a centerpiece.

To make my centerpiece more fallish I added various sizes of pine cones, plus lots of faux fruits, acorns, etc. Those add texture and color to the centerpiece.

I snapped a few pics before we sat down to eat. For the table settings I used simple white plates, white cotton napkins, and Oneida stainless steel flatware. All easy to clean! :-)

Besides candlelight we had the twinkle of Christmas tree lights.

Yes, our tree is up, but no ornaments yet.

I hope to finish decorating the tree over the weekend.

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving with those you love.

As you look into mama cave you can see that it is dressed for Christmas.

Over the next few days I will be adding more decorations around the house. Ho ho ho.

And of course...I will share with you!

Just a reminder...I am participating in two upcoming holiday blog hops...and I hope you visit those too.

I am not going out and about this Black Friday. I will be tinkering around the house doing this and that. We will heat up a few leftovers and maybe find a movie.

Hubby and I are talking about planning some visits to Kentucky locations decorated for Christmas. Our first stop might be to Bardstown to visit My Old Kentucky Home.
