|Newly made steps help us get into the house more easily.|
We are both short and find that concrete blocks don't work well. ha ha.

Do you ever have a week where you feel like you have been really busy, but you are not really sure what you have accomplished? That is me this week. I have done lots of little things, i.e. bits and pieces.☺
I have had this faux boxwood wreath laying about and I finally made a bow for it....from my new spool of ribbon. (Hobby Lobby) It took me years of trying to get the florist bow look. ha!
This pillow followed me home a couple of weeks ago. I am not one to invest in holiday pillows because they have such a short seasonal life span. But this one spoke to me... I think this means I now have a total of two Christmas pillows.
I located my traditional Santa and I have a sleigh that I want to try to fit him into this year. Note the wrinkles on his forehead and around his eyes. He is still holding up well after so many years of filling orders. :-)
Here is a peek at my dining room tablescape. I can only give you a quick peek because it is scheduled for a home tour after Thanksgiving. The date is below.
I spotted this lamp about a month ago.
I have had it on my mind and I finally went back to the store and it was still there. I told my self that if it were still there, it was meant to be mine.
I took this pic before removing the tag. I like to make sure! It is in a corner of the parlor...so the pic is not the best. But, I knew you would want to see it. I know that I have lots of blue and white porcelain friends out there!
I added this red chord to a jar since I seem to be leaning toward traditional red for Christmas this year.
I had to move this lamp since the new one arrived. I am trying it in the dining room. We shall see.
Also, I have been sprinkling boxwood balls around the house for touches of seasonal greenery. I love those things!
Hubby was checking the weather report...and he saw that rain, wind, and cold temps are heading our way this weekend. He decided he needed to head to the basement and begin bringing up the wreathes and garlands.
I think the red velvet bows are good for another year. (yay!) Hubs hangs the wreaths around the top of the basement wall, and that keeps my bows from getting smashed.
Hubby is in charge of the outdoor decorating so he wants to get the job done before it is too nasty outside. We won't turn any lights until after Thanksgiving. But he likes to get everything hung. Last year he was putting up greenery in the cold. Ouch.
Looks like he needs to blow off the leaves too. ha ha.
And now...here is our "out back" view. Leaves are everywhere ...and not much color left.
Out by the driveway there is a little more color. But it will be gone soon. If we get cold wind this weekend...the leaves will fly away.
This wraps up my bits and pieces update. I will be back in a few more days...and hopefully with a few more project accomplishments.
Parent update...my parents are busy busy. They are packing what they want to move and giving away things they don't want to move. ha ha. That's one way to clean out a house! They are buying a lovely patio style home, a couple of miles from me, that they get to finish with their own selections. I am hopeful that they will let me blog about their new nest after they get settled in the first of the new year. Mother will have a great modern kitchen...and they will have an open concept floor plan. Here is to a new adventure for my parents...who continue to be young at heart!
By the way...I want to invite you to two fun open houses right after Thanksgiving.
The first one is a Tablescape blog hop with a group of fun and creative ladies.
And the second one is a Holiday Home Tour. They are being organized by Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate. You will not be disappointed in the amount of creativity each hostess has.
