A Neutral Thanksgiving Table

Let us give thanks!

In this crazy world of ours let us never forget our true blessings.

Can you believe it?
I am doing a neutral tablescape!

Neutral runs a bit contrary to my usual selections...but I wanted to see if I could give it a go, just using what I have on hand.

I studied others' neutral tablescapes to see what I needed. Many use doughbowls, but I do not have one. Then I saw a tablescape that mixed neutrals with gold. Ah Ha! Inspiration struck.

Wheat is a perfect neutral for a fall table,
plus a great source of texture.

I gathered my bits and pieces and proceeded to come up with a my neutral color scheme.

white tablecloth
white napkins
faux acorns for emblishment
round straw placemats
Ivory plates
wheat in pots
ivory pumpkins
gold pumpkins
brass bowl
bronze finished candlesticks
creamy gold candles
white ceramic pumpkins

It sure is neutral. ha!

I feel like I need to slap some bright colors onto the table somewhere...ha ha ha. I am just not used to using light neutral colors.

If I were to paint more pumpkins I could create a larger centerpiece...but for a trial run this does just fine.

The ivory, white, and gold blend very well with the drapes in the dining room which are a goldish yellow with soft white.

Another angle...

As the sun was going down I lit some candles to add to the ambiance of the table setting. That made my neutral table much more fun.

Candles always add a special touch.

I used burlap ribbon to tie the napkins and then added a faux acorn for decoration.

I found the pots of wheat at TJ Maxx.

I like the sunset pictures the best maybe.

Of course, candlelight makes any table setting shimmer and glimmer.

You know that I tend to lean toward simple table settings.

Thank you so much for visiting. I appreciate all of you who make a part of your day with me. I am thankful for your kindness and friendship.

I have so much to be thankful for this year!
Friendships, family, and good health.
I take none of this for granted...

Wishing you and your family all the best as you prepare for another Thanksgiving.

Let us all give thanks for what we have!
