Linda, from Life and Linda asked me if I would help host a Halloween Tablescape Link Party...and I said "yes." That is what started the process for this table. I shared a few pics at the link party...but here is the up-close and personal version.
I was given two sets of lanterns by Oriental Trading to use in my Halloween décor this year, so that worked out well for me.
I decided to use my black and white checked tablecloth for its casual playfulness. It works.
The big sparkly pumpkin has danced all over the house this fall. It was my fall season investment and it sure has earned its keep so far. I elevated onto a cake plate for some prominence.
I put round black placemats under my plate stack. I was aiming for a strong black and white color theme...with pops of orange.
White plates! What can I say? They are my go to for table settings. I change the colors of napkins and placemats to create new looks.
I went to the Halloween tub in the basement to retreive some spiders, orange candles, and black birds. The jack-o-lantern is this year's trinket purchase from Hobby Lobby.
These lanterns have tops that lift up for inserting the candle. Hubby assisted me in the project by putting the lanterns together.
I pulled out a silver candleholder and Towle bowl to add some silver sparkle.
These stretchy skeletons from Oriental Trading are fun to play with...but I put them on a silver platter as if they were part of the menu. (Think gummy worms, though not to be eaten!) Kids would have a blast with these.
This little black picture has been with me a while. I find uses for it around the house.
I put these mini pumpkins on top of candlesticks. They fit perfectly.
Disclosure: Oriental Trading provided the black lanterns and stretchy skeletons for this post, but I created the tablescape!

And in the evening...things start getting spooky with the glow of candle light.
