Thinking Out Loud...Gold Pumpkins

I need to stop!

I need to stop picking up little pumpkins. I have quite enough little baubles around the house!

But what's the harm of a small box of pumpkins for a few dollars, (she tells herself.) They won't take up much room in my box of fall décor when I put them away.

And you know...I seem to get them (pumpkins) in threes. These little gold ceramic pumpkins came in a box of three, so I had no choice. ha ha.

When I stood and looked at the little box of shiny gold pumpkins I just knew they would fit in my house somewhere. I have gold and brass here and no problem finding a place for the pumpkins, right?

Well, I tried these little shiny gold pumpkins here and there to try to find an attractive display.

I started with them on a blockfront chest. Then I moved them to my great great grandmother's drop leaf table.

Here they are lined up like little soldiers.

They look much better with light shining on them.

Then I moved them into the parlor. When the sunlight shines on them they just glow. They are still sitting on my pedestal table...but who knows where they will be tomorrow.

I have to question my purchase. While I like for an item to be flexible for usage, I am still not sure where the best place is for these little gold pumpkins. They are more glitzy than I usually use. I still like them...but have not found a location where they just seem to fit the best. Maybe I am just overthinking the whole thing. I do that! Oh well.

Hubby says I can fret over the smallest things and not worry about large things. Yes, it's true. :-)

In case you missed it, the Autumn Tablescape Blog Hop from last week can still be seen.

Hello, I'm Sheila and my house is a giant art project! I enjoy creating an environment where my family can feel safe, secure, and loved. We are empty nesters learning to slow down and enjoy life.

  1. I love your pretty gold pumpkins! I think they look perfect lined up like soldiers ushering in the fall season!

  2. They are very pretty miniature pumpkins, I see them making an appearance dancing around on the dining room table :)

  3. Sheila, I love them near the lamps that show a glimpse of gold inner shade. I also like the idea of moving them around and enjoying them in different settings. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. They are darling - no matter where they are! Have a good weekend!

  5. Lovely pumpkins! Where did you find them?

    1. Tj Maxx or Hobby Lobby. Can't remember which. My poor old brain. Ha ha.

  6. Those gold pumpkins are quite charming! I can see why you could not resist.

  7. Oh, I love those little pumpkins. They are both sweet and stylish.

  8. I love them! Like the jewels of your pumpkin collection!

  9. Love the shiny little pumpkins! They need to be where they can reflect the light, at least part of the time. Are they too glitzy to mix in with any other pumpkins?

  10. I love them too! I also move things around til it feels right. Happy Fall!!!

  11. Those are cute! Maybe if they're split up you'll find the spot that strikes you the best! I picked up some gold gourds and pumpkins too and have been toying as to where they'll go.

  12. I know what you mean, If I saw those I wouldn't be able to pass them up either! LOL

  13. Hello Sheila,
I love how elegant and pretty your little pumpkins look in you house. They are just perfect for fall.
Thanks for sharing at Cooking and Crafting with J & J.
