Simple Fall Trayscape

Another look at my tray...

Last weekend I picked up a new tray at TJ Maxx...and I wrote a post about how versatile I thought it would be for seasonal and holiday decorating. See..."Another Tray" post here.

This is the the tray as I found it.

This is the tray after I placed an arrangement on it...I had to tinker after I brought the tray home. :-)

And here is what I did to it yesterday!

I have been wanting to make a "nod to fall" arrangement and this is what I did...and on the new tray.

I gathered some older accessories along with some pine cones and created a fallish trayscape.

The small brass container is a golden oldie from the past that once had a very pretty flower arrangement in it.

The goldish candlesticks are from my stash of old stuff too. I pulled them out and created an quick fall trayscape.

Use and reuse are my motto! Use what you a new way. Mix and match. You get the idea! :-)

I thought the tray needed some color, so out comes a greenery ball (love those things!) and a tiny faux pumpkin.

This tray is huge and can handle several things.

This is just the beginning of my playing with my new toy. ha! I may challenge myself to see just how many ways I can decorate it.

I hope I don't wear you out with my new tray...but right now I am so excited with the many possibilities.

Stay tuned for As The Tray Turns!

Hello, I'm Sheila and my house is a giant art project! I enjoy creating an environment where my family can feel safe, secure, and loved. We are empty nesters learning to slow down and enjoy life.

  1. Sheila, I just recently discovered your blog and I must say, I'm in love! I have a more traditional decorating style than so many out there now, and your posts are right up my alley. I love your new tray and see that it has many possibilities. I love to see how you use things you already have; we all need to do more of that. Thanks for this lovely post.

    1. Thank you so much Martha. I am glad you found me and look forward to chatting with you about traditional decor again soon. Sometimes I get a little crazy and do some other topics too! :-)

  2. It looks lovely!! I have those same candlesticks that I painted shabby pink! Now I wish I'd left them bronze :( Oh yeah, they make bronze spray paint, don't they! Problem solved. You did a beautiful tray scape. Just enough for a nod to fall! Happy weekend!

  3. Love the versatility of this gorgeous tray. Have a great weekend.

  4. The tray itself is charming! And your styling is beautiful♥

  5. Sheila, I just found your blog and really like your style. I think perhaps I've just driven through Kentucky on our way south, so I not all that familiar with it (I'm Canadian). I am looking forward to reading more of your posts. -Jenn

    1. Lots of Canadians drive through KY going south to FL and other points south. Thanks for visiting and come back soon if you can!

  6. Lovely Sheila!! I so enjoy my visits with seems like every other blog has become so pale and washed out, pretty but not my style. I can always count on you for a shot of energizing colors!! I love your tray...unfortunately we have no TJM. Maybe I will find something at Hobby Lobby later today when I go by there.

  7. I'd have wanted to play with it too! It is a beautiful tray and I love the gentle nod to fall.

  8. Very pretty, Shelia. As the tray turns, I plan to stay tuned. Love those candlesticks too!

  9. Oooh, I like your fall tray! You find the best stuff!

  10. Love the candlesticks! Such a pretty set up <3
