I Couldn't Resist It!

I am not sure what it is about pretty glass that attracts me, but it does. Maybe I just like shiny objects. ha!

I love beautiful glass ...from fine crystal to wonky hand blown glass.

Last week I was in Tuesday Morning and saw this piece of glass.

I am not sure if it is a bottle, a jar, or a vase. ha. Whatever you want to call followed me home.

I washed it and brought it into the "design studio." (i.e. the dining room)

The funny thing is...I thought my bottle was really dusty. I washed and washed...but still had these sparkles. When I put my bifocals to work investigating the issue, I discovered that the "sparkles" are actually tiny bubbles in the glass, like seed glass.

I love seed glass!!

Here is a close up of the "sparkles."

I love the irregular shape and clarity.

I only paid a few dollars for this new treasure, but I can see using it in lots of places around the house, inside and out on the porch.

In the store the glass looked like old Coca Cola bottle green, but in my house the glass became more blue. It could have been the store lighting.
I like the blue better than the green.

I looked around the house for some silk stems to poke into my bottle and found these long green stems.

I am thinking of making a table setting around my we shall see what I come up with for that.

Now...what do you think this is?
A jar? A bottle? or a vase?  I have wanted to call it all three things during the typing of this post.

I found three votives in my stash that just happen to go with my bottle.

I love it when things match without trying.

Have a great day my friends!

Thanks for visiting...

Hello, I'm Sheila and my house is a giant art project! I enjoy creating an environment where my family can feel safe, secure, and loved. We are empty nesters learning to slow down and enjoy life.

  1. Shelia, what beautiful vase, it sure would make a great lamp also!

    1. Ooooh, a lamp. Nice idea to think about!

  2. Wow! What a great find!! So pretty

  3. What a perfect centerpiece for your table and so easy for flower arranging - a favorite! Happy Tuesday!

  4. I'd vote for a vase in the shape of a jar. It has real character!

  5. What a beautiful jar. I like vintage glass also. A great addition to your home.

  6. Whatever it's called, it's lovely!

  7. VERY lovely! The blue contrasted with that fabulous yellow screams out summer glory, Sheila! Anita

  8. I do not think I could have resisted either!....Had to laugh about the sparkles!!!

  9. You found a gorgeous vase/jug! The color is beautiful and the seeded glass look is perfect for your home.

  10. I like it too! I guess you could call it a blue green jar/jug/vase! I did that once with something I bought- kept trying to clean it up but the way the glass was made was the real issue. I like the green fuji mums- what a great color. I bet it would look great on your front porch!

    1. I just moved it out to the back porch yesterday. I love it there too!

  11. Oh I really love that glass jar/vase!! How sweet and it looks perfect in your home. Please share where you found it!!

    1. Diane, I found my jar at my local Tuesday Morning. It is very heavy glass...and I love it. Hope you can find one too.

  12. That certainly is a beautiful piece! And the green stems are perfect for it! I couldn't have resisted bringing it home, either! :) ~Rhonda

  13. I have a thing for glass too Sheila, it's gorgeous!
