Fall Floral Projects

I have been busy, busy playing with my fall floral. I decided it was time to change out my summer front door wreath.

The time came to add some fall floral. I have been itching to do this but did not want to jump the seasons.

I went to the basement to gather some stems and containers and took them to the back porch to begin the process.

I have two of these metal door containers that I brought from the previous house.

The flowers in them are actually huge floral bushes that I bought at HL a few years ago.

(Yes. I am a hoarder. I keep things in my stash and reuse them as the seasons roll around.)

I don't have double doors now, so I though I would change up the containers. In comes my wonderful door basket that my daughter picked up for me in Lexington a couple of years ago.

I put the floral bush in the basket, and tada, a new arrangement. I love easy!

I put the extra arrangement on a back door, and put the basket arrangement on the front door.

Now, let's move to the front of the house.

Here is my newly made fall door arrangement ready to welcome guests. I just switched stems and a bow to my basket to create a completely new arrangement. Easy and inexpensive!

I added a burlap bow that I had on my summer wreath. It is a little bleached out from the summer's afternoon sun, but I think it still goes nicely with the basket.

I know that it is a while until fall officially begins...but I don't want to be late. I just had to begin tinkering and creating with my fall decor. These are my September colors...yellows and golds. They make me smile.

My Kentucky Living

Hello, I'm Sheila and my house is a giant art project! I enjoy creating an environment where my family can feel safe, secure, and loved. We are empty nesters learning to slow down and enjoy life.

  1. Sheila, love your fall arrangement for your front door...really is beautiful! I need to get busy on mine, just so hot here! Pam @ Everyday Living

    1. Hot here too...but I just had to do something fall. :-) Can't wait to see your creations.

  2. Sheila,
A woman after my own heart. Good choice.
When I make door baskets I usually put a felt pad on the back side to protect the door.

  3. It's a little change with big impact. Isn't it lovely to welcome a new season with a fresh arrangement?

    1. Yes it is...I get energized when the seasons change! Then I slow down. ha ha

  4. Very pretty Sheila. Loving the large bow addition. Your guests will feel very welcome.

    1. Thanks Linda. I finally learned how to make bows...and I like them big. ha!

  5. Gorgeous! I am visiting from Shirley's. I think we also have a lot in common. I decorate in the French Country / Traditional style and use golds, reds blues and greens in my house. In fact Shirley and I were both featured in the same French Country magazine a year back! Come visit when you have time.

  6. Shelia, I love your Fall arrangements. Just my style - natural and easy! I notice you hung it on your decorative glass door. I have one of those on the new house and was thinking I couldn't hang any wreaths on it. You showed me it can work. Thanks!! Have a great weekend! Zenda

  7. Your basement stash serves you well when it comes to changing out decor! Love all your fall arrangements/baskets.

  8. I love decorating for fall. There are always so many fresh new ideas! Thanks for sharing at #OverTheMoon. I hope you have a great week!

  9. Beautiful work Shiela! I'm slowly dragging myself into fall and need to replace my worn out front door wreath.

  10. I am a seasonal hoarder too :)

  11. Such pretty ideas you have!

I would love for you to share this with my Facebook Group for recipes, crafts, tips, and tricks:

  13. I love the combination of the burlap ribbon with those fiery flowers. So happy it's almost fall! :)
