Technology, Photos, & Perfume

I know this sounds like a crazy mix of topics!

I like to share new ideas that I like with you. I have included links and pics in case you are also interested.

This first idea is a long time coming to me, however it may have been out in the technology world for quite a while. ha!
ios thumb drive on amazon
Maybe I live under a rock...but I just saw this jump drive/thumb drive for phones and tablets, Ipads a couple of weeks ago. I think it is great!
This little gadget expands and saves photos from your I phone or I pad. There are others that work for android phones and tablets too.

Before, we had to connect a cord, or wirelessly sync/move photos to our computers, etc.

But, what if you want to save those pics and you are on vacation or a weekend trip without your computer. And, what if you want to have a document with you while you travel? And I like to take pics of my shopping receipts. Soooo many uses!

I do believe I want to buy one of these thumb drives.  And...it seems to me that we can buy a smaller gigabite phone or pad too. Those 32 and 64 gig toys are much more expensive.

These gadgets are made by a gazillion companies so you would have to do your research to see which one you prefer. Each little thumb drive has a tiny plug in for the phone and a larger usb plug to connect with your computer.
examples on amazon
The price point on these little items varies according to how much storage you want. I saw several on amazon...but check with your favorite technology shopping location. Best Buy has lots of tech stuff...but there are lots of online markets too.

Fragrance Tricks...
Juicy Couture, Viva La Juicy
This is my current favorite fragrance. And I want to make the fragrance last as long as possible when wearing it. I ran across these perfume tips on Good Housekeeping that might help me.  (If you want to read more click on the link.)

Moisturize with unscented lotion then spray perfume.
Spray perfume after showering and before dressing.
Rub vaseline on pulse points before applying perfume.
Don't rub your wrists together after applying perfume.
Don't spray alcohol based perfumes directly onto your hair, but rather onto your hairbrush and then brush your hair.

I am going to try these!

A week or so ago I was sick and bored at the same time. ha!  Raise you hand if you know this feeling.

I wanted to be up and around, but my body did not want to participate. So, I tried to entertain myself the best I could.

I picked up my camera and played with snapping pics of things. Mind you, I was sitting in my chair so all of my views came from this position.

I was practicing my focusing technique, which needs work.

My camera has a touch screen that will let me touch an object in the pic to put the focus on that spot. However...I still get some shake and blur.

I still have not purchased a tripod because I keep reading reviews and cannot make a decision. Ho hum.

I used the wicker ball as my focus spot.
I like still life photography...and you can tell by looking at many of my blog pics. I guess all of us develop a signature style at some point.

I just love to take pictures...and share with you, my somewhat captive audience.

I want to be a photographer!

Until then...I will just play one on my blog. :-)

Thanks for visiting!

My Kentucky Living
My Kentucky Living

Hello, I'm Sheila and my house is a giant art project! I enjoy creating an environment where my family can feel safe, secure, and loved. We are empty nesters learning to slow down and enjoy life.

  1. I think I live at least partially under a rock...

    1. You seem "with it" to me Brenda. Ha ha ha.

  2. Dear Photographer...
Mr. Sweet and I both live beneath that ole rock you mentioned...we still aren't sure how the radio works...:)
We don't have Smart phones for one reason only ...cost...the monthly bill would cut too deeply into our Social Security Budget...we have the ones for olden folks..service @ $15 a month...I would LOVE a Smart phone for the internet...

    1. BJ I saw a smart phone version of the old folks phone on tv. I Can't remember the brand name because of my old brain ha ha ha.

    2. BJ...finally remembered. There is now a Jitterbug smart phone out there. Walmart carries some...and I may have to consider one when my iphone dies. The price is much, much better!

  3. Thanks for tip about the thumb drive for tablets and phones. Have to scope them out. I have a video on my Pinterest Humor board of an older couple trying to figure out something on their computer. Its funny every time I watch it. xoxo

  4. I am very familiar with those thumb drives. I have been using them for a long time.
My Mom has a Jitterbug phone, not a smart phone but the numbers are larger and easier to read.
Technology has come a long way.

  5. Linda...I plan on getting a thumb drive for my iPhone/iPad. It's funny that I have been waiting for someone to come out with one...and did not know they existed yet. I need to crawl out from under my rick more often. Ha ha

  6. I enjoyed your post and the Juicy perfume is my one of my daughters favorites!
    Enjoy the weekend.

  7. Well how about that! I think a bunch of us live under a rock. Fortunately, I have an iPhone and a Mac and they sync with each other so at this point I don't have the need for one, but still great to know.

  8. I saw those iPhone jump drives at an istore last year on vacation and haven't seen them (or looked) since. I need to do that, I think it would be great for my iPad. Hubby bought me an inexpensive tripod from Best Buy several years ago and I really like it. It's also handy to take out. I've taken several family photos using it. Hope you've recovered from your ailments. No fun being sick!

  9. Great tips, both for the perfume and the flash drive!

  10. Your photos are beautiful without the tripod!

  11. Oh wow Sheila! That thumb drive is exactly what I need. When we go to the ocean I can just pop that to the TV. Thanks for letting me know! I have been worried since it has been a week since you posted. I hope you are on vacation and not ill! Hugs.

  12. My husband loves the gadgets - I can't figure them out. Great tips about perfume. Hope you are having a good weekend!!

  13. I love that thumb-drive gadget. It makes so much sense!

  14. Thank you so much for linking at #WonderfulWednesday! I look forward to seeing what you share every week.
