New Rugs for the Entry

As I tend to do, I have been moving and mixing things around the house. No surprise! And one thing leads to another of course. I moved a red oriental wool rug from the entry to another location in the house.

That left me with needing another rug for my front entry. I did not want to purchase an expensive rug since this is where people step in from outside.

I was given an opportunity to partner with Rug Studio and used a coupon to order a new rug. I spent a weekend looking at the many selections online and decided to go with this taupe Greek key motif wool flatweave rug.

I ordered it on a Sunday evening and it was delivered 8 days later. The rug was just unrolled when I took these pics...therefore a few ripples.

I know it seems like I might have been taking a chance by ordering a rug online. But no! The ordering process was simple!

The color of the rug is taupe and ivory, though the online description called it brown.

I was keeping my fingers crossed that it would be a taupe color...and bingo, it was! Whew. It will work in four different locations in my house. Yay!

I also ordered a pad to keep my 5 x 8 rug from slipping. Safety is important of course. I like flatweave rugs because you can flip them over and get twice the wear. I have an older one that we used in our sun room at the previous house.

Here is another view with more light. Both of my wool orientals on either side of this rug (in the parlor and dining room) have shades of taupe and tan.

I love the classic Greek key motif...and want to look for more Greek key accessories.

I also saw this cute all weather bistro rug on also and added it to my cart before checking out. It can be hosed off as well vacuumed. I may put this mat in my kitchen in front of the sink because it is thick and squishy!

It has a cotton backing and will not scratch my hardwood floors.

It was so easy to order my rugs online. I could have called for support, but I found the online process so easy that there was no need. There were instructions on how to return my rugs if they did not suit me...which is always comforting when making online purchases.

If you are in the market for any new area rugs give Rug Studio a look. There are traditional wool orientals as well as fun outdoor deck and patio rugs. The only hard thing for me was deciding which rug to buy. There are so many choices!

Disclosure: While Rug Studio provided these two rugs all opinions are my own. You may read my disclosure page here.

I will show more pictures later as I place them in different locations around the house. I was excited to share/show you my new arrivals.

Thanks for visiting!

My Kentucky Living

Hello, I'm Sheila and my house is a giant art project! I enjoy creating an environment where my family can feel safe, secure, and loved. We are empty nesters learning to slow down and enjoy life.

  1. Looking good Sheila. I like to move things around sometimes as well. That is a cute bistro rug.

  2. I like both of the rugs- especially the Greek key rug. I have to have washable rugs because of the heavy traffic in and out the door especially in the winter. I will check out their website as I have a need for a rug. I hope you enjoy your new rugs!

    1. I saw an indoor outdoor Greek key style. They have a good search box...type Greek key.

  3. Thanks for sharing your experience, Shelia. I'll be purchasing several rugs for our new home and was wondering how online stores worked. I'll keep this post in mind when I get to that point in this building process! Have a great week!

    1. Building a new home gives you so many opportunities for new design choices. Fun!

  4. I love a greek key pattern. So crisp. You chose well!

    1. Me too! Greek key is classic and timely at the same time. Thanks for visiting. Sheila

  5. Thank you for sharing at #OverTheMoon. I am looking forward to seeing what you choose to share next week!

  6. I love the new doormat! It is so unique! The new rug inside looks great too. Thanks for linking up to Dishing It! & Digging It!

  7. Thank you for sharing at #ThursdayFavoriteThings! Pinned and tweeted.

  8. Sheila- I love your taupe Greek key rug.
Greek key designs are so elegant.
I love moving thins around too.
It is one of life's great pleasures- especially in my nightgown with a cup of coffee.
Thank you for being at Thoughts of Home.
