Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good day. Here is my latest house tweak. I am always mixing and arranging, so take a look and see if it inspires you to change up something around your house. I am thrilled by you all when you tell me that something I do gives you an idea. I love that.
I was walking past the mama cave, aka the parlor, and decided it had been way too long since I had arranged the coffee table and sofa pillows.
So, what to do on a rainy cool day? Pop a cd in for some music, grab a dust cloth, clear off the coffee table, and begin looking around for some accessories to dress the coffee table.
The sofa is dressed with gold pillows from my stash. The leopard pillow is a newish purchase from TJM a couple of months ago. I grabbed it because I love animal prints and because the shade of gold works with my other pillows and paint colors.
With the sofa dressed I began decorating the coffee table.
I grabbed one of my Beatriz Ball platters and used some of my ever faithful decorating helpers, greenery balls, to create a centerpiece.
Here we are with a clean tabletop, and a dark room. We are having a cold rainy day here today.
And here we are with the starting centerpiece.
You can see the other accessories on the floor. They had been on the coffee table since after Christmas. I have been a slacker folks!
I added a bowl of butterscotch drops. I love them and they just happen to work with my color scheme. :-)
I added a few magazines...since this is "my" room and I like to browse and read when I have a few minutes to rest and hang out.
I found my candlesticks that have been stashed away since Christmas. They go with the platter. Both are aluminum and give a silver look...but with easy care.
I like to mix accessories. Silver/gold tones. Traditional/contemporary. Fancy/casual. For me, opposites attract. ha! I like to think this helps my traditional style stay fresh.
By gathering a few accessories from around the house I have a new "look." Do you like to change things up from time to time? Or do you get stuck with one look/arrangement.
I have a couple of table tops that have been stuck on one look. I need to work on those one day too.
I had to break down and turn on some lights.(April showers bring May flowers.) I apologize for all of the yellow tint...but it does counteract the gray outside. I managed a few shots with low light settings on my camera.
This is a very simple tablescape...but it is something different from what had been there since after Christmas.
Ta Da!...a new look with pillows and accessories on the table.
It's fun to change things up now and then.
If you have a table that needs some attention, put on some music, and begin moving and grooving to create a new look!
Thanks for visiting!
