Coffee Table Shoot

First of all, I did not harm the coffee table. I just want to clear up that point. But I did shoot the table. :-)

I had a photo shoot in the parlor and I though I would share the pictures. I am always practicing my photography skills, trying to improve so that the blog has better pictures for you. I love "still life" photography, and study the style online.

I considered not posting this "shoot" today, because I thought, well, they are just some practice pics...and some people don't like to see the same pictures from different angles and such. (If this bores you...just move along. ha! I will not be offended.)

Then I reconsidered. The blog is about my life, my house, my photography, and the tinkering that I do. ha!

So here you go... A  few minutes from one of my days where I am practicing my hobby.

I practice several times a week...trying new lighting, new camera settings, new locations, new still life vignettes, etc.

I just love taking pictures, and trying to get better.

The blog is in some ways a result of my interest in photography. I started documenting the transition to our smaller house and the projects to make it as elegant as our large Georgian on the farm. (I'm still working on that.)

So...Today I am sharing a few photos.

I share photos on Instagram.(I hope you are following me.) Just photos, with few words.

I thought I would do it for this blog post. Just photos, with few words.

I used the coffee table vignette as my "still life" for the shoot. I love still life photography as an art...and I want to improve my own skills. I have been trying to improve my overhead shots.

I have a couple of lenses on my wish list...but for now I do like using my canon 70d and EFS18-135 IS lens. If only I could be proficient with manual. You know what they say...practice, practice, practice!

If you have some good lens or photo tips to share with me/us, I welcome them. Please. :-)

Do you tinker and practice with your camera and "shooting" things around your house? :-)

Also, what kind of cameras and lenses do you all use?

I hope you are having a good day!

Thanks for visiting.
