Well, I am not getting a facelift...but rather the blog is getting a face lift. :-)
Our favorite blog fairy, Linda from Life and Linda, is taking the blog from a cobbled together creation of mine and making it into a nice fast running sports car. I told her that while I wanted my blog to be attractive I was especially interested in having the blog run smoother and load faster for you all.
The biggest change that you will notice is that now the "landing" page will have a pic and summary of the most recent posts. You will then click the "read more" button and you will go to a full page. See the example below:Each post will have my "social" icons so that you can connect with My Kentucky Living on other platforms too. Facebook. Pinterest, Google +. And now Instagram.
Let me tell you...I love sharing pics on Instagram. If you have an Instagram account please visit me (mykentuckylivingblog,) and if you do not have Instagram, please sign up to follow along. It is such fun for "visual" people. (You can have a completely private account if you have a concern about privacy...and follow the blogs and people that you want to.)
Linda is fixing a lot of "under the hood" technology things on the blog that are way beyond my skills. I love to do artsy things like digital imaging, etc. But when it comes to code and script...well, I am out of my league.
I am sticking with a soft French blue, black ink, and white as my color choices. (Soft french blue was the color on the shutters of the house I lived in in Southern France.)
Linda has also tweaked my fonts too.
My goal is that everything is easy to read and find....with the addition of an additional menu at the top of the page.
There will continue to be tweaks here and there. Just know that things will settle down after Linda has completed the facelift. I have to say that I am loving the direction she is taking my blog.
I encourage you to look around, click on the titles in the menu to see what is where. I will have a blog "open house" once everything is finished.
Thank you for your patience as we (Linda, really) works to make My Kentucky Living look bright and fresh for us. She is nipping and tucking and taking the blog to a new professional level for us.
And one more thing, the blog address is now mykentuckylivingblog.com.
Yes...we are a dot.com now. ha!
All of this as MKL prepares to celebrate its third birthday at the end of January. Yay!
