What I'm Reading: Fun Christmas Ideas

I have so many great ideas and places for you to visit...and maybe too many for one blog post. You can space them out for your free time...ha!

As I read and surf the internet I keep a list of links during the week...then I put them in a post for you to enjoy. Here you go for this week's fun and fascinating info! :-)

I recently discovered Chico's social site with lots of great articles. Who knew? Here is an article about how to be a relaxed hostess. We can all use those tips!

Here is a celebrity designer who is big on plaid!
His use of plaid might be a bit strong for some, but his article is worth a quick look.

Do you have any old plaid shirts or pjs that are ready to be donated? Well, look at this before you do. Make some plaid shirt ornaments like Eddie Ross did. Here is a cute craft idea with some celebrity personality mixed in.

Look at these cute ornament wreaths.  (below)
If you like them here are some instructions by Eddie Ross. All you need are a few household items: a wire hanger, some plastic ornaments, and glue, if you need to secure the ornament caps.

I discovered a great website for crafty/creative folks. There is an e-book that you can download for projects and instructions

Make a no sew table runner. I keep thinking I will make one and I keep putting it off. This one is unlined and looks simple enough that I think I can make it. Maybe I have time to make one before Christmas. Hmmm.

Make some yarn pompoms! I want to try this craft sometime this winter. I want to attach them to a pillow.

From Craftberry Bush blog learn how to make the cutest tabletop Christmas tree arrangement using greenery

From Emily Clark is a brass light fixture redo. If you are not liking brass any more here is a great project. Her new light fixture is beautiful!

Yummly.com has a recipe that caught my eye... Baked Turkey & Cranberry sliders. Yum!

TJ Maxx has a wine chiller that looks so cool. (ha!) Pricey, but cool. I already have an older one, but this would be on my wish list. Santa, are you listening? And this decanter, so stylish.  The basket lover in me likes these stacking baskets. Attractive and useful! It's good that I have to drive to another town to visit a TJ Maxx.

Here is a sweet designer from Tennessee, Jennifer Davenport who has a blog, and some great Youtube videos. You might enjoy her video on how she decorates a Christmas tree.

Or how she decorates a mantle.

And for my musical selections...Lee Ann Womack.

I love Lee Ann Womack tunes. It started with her song...I Hope You Dance. I listened to those lyrics over and over. They offer good advice for any grandmother, mother, aunt, or sister to give to a young, or not so young, woman. (Actually the advice could work for males too I suppose.) If something bad happens in your life...don't just sit. Get back in there and "dance."

Once I found that I liked Lee Ann's voice I picked up her Christmas album. Same great voice!  I hope you enjoy.

I just love Lee Ann Womack"s Christmas Album.
This song is with Harry Connick Jr.

Lee Ann Womack, What are you doing New Year's Eve?

That's me...and I don't sing! ha!
I am working on decorating our home for Christmas.

Have a great day!
Thanks for visiting.
