Repurposed Christmas Garland

Sometimes I even surprise myself!

Hey everyone, I bet you are busy, busy, busy this time of the year. I really appreciate your taking a few minutes out of your day to visit me.

I have an idea today that had never occurred to me. ha!

I had a basket, but I needed some greenery.

I had already put together one basket of greenery and I wanted to make another similar arrangement.

This year I am really trying to use my creativity instead of going out and buying more "stuff."

Then I had a light bulb moment!

I had this extra piece of Christmas garland.

Could that become the greenery that I needed for my basket? I thought it was worth a try.

I sat down on the floor and started playing.

I rolled my garland into a circle, cinnamon roll style. I kept the roll tight so that it would fit into my basket.

Ta Da! It fit just fine in my basket.

I had a nice basket of bushy greenery. Perfect.

Now I could dress the basket to be a pretty arrangement. I am reusing, or re-purposing, everything. Old pine cones. Old red Christmas ornaments, Old basket. Old "Believe" ornament. But new burlap ribbon from Dollar General. ($2.00)

Problem solved without a trip to the florist! yea!

What is it that they say? Necessity is the mother of invention? Well, it worked for me this time. ha!

For the moment, my basket is bringing some Christmas spirit to the mama cave.

Here's to a little "make do" creativity!

What have you all been doing? Have you re-purposed anything for your Christmas décor?

Thanks for visiting!
