Fall Decorating: Pumpkins and Lanterns

I found a box of pumpkins in South Carolina when we went to the beach.

I wanted two boxes, but TJ Maxx only had one box.

So, when I was in Lexington I stopped by the local Marshalls. Bingo...they had several boxes of pumpkins!

I only wanted a second one...so I left the other ones for the Lexington shoppers. When they see my idea...there will no doubt be a run on these boxes of pumpkins. Ha. Ha.

I love the jute cord that strings them all together. Perfect for swagging over a fireplace, or door opening, etc. But I had another idea!

I wanted to put my pumpkins inside of my lanterns. So, I gathered up my supplies and headed to the studio (dining room) and got to work.

I put the first string of pumpkins in the larger lantern. They don't quite fill up the large lantern, but that is fine.

Then I put the second string of pumpkins into the smaller lantern.

These were a tighter squeeze!

But I squished them a little and they fit.

You can see that this is a very detailed and difficult project! ha!

If I can squish pumpkins into lanterns...you can too. ha!

Here they are, ready and waiting for a location!
I haven't figured that out just yet. But I shall. :-)

To further complicate this project are my two crows! I have to find a place for them too.
Soooo many  executive decisions for the lady of the house. ha!

Check back in a few days. I will find a good place to set these up before then.

For the time being...my project will just add a bit of Halloween flavor to the dining room, i.e. studio. (When you downsize, your rooms have to multi-task.)

I need to go to the basement and see what other fall/Halloween goodies I want to bring upstairs. The clock is ticking!

Instead of dumpster diving...I will be "bin" diving. Halloween "bin" diving in my orange and black bins.
