Farmhouse Table: And there was light!

Last week I showed you, or tried to show you, my recent farmhouse table pics.
The sky was gray, and not the best for photography.
So...I decided to "rewind."
I took new pics.
These are much better!

You can see the white washed clay pots better now that there is more light. And I did not need to turn on the led lights inside of the mini pumpkins.

When there is sunlight our kitchen is a nice bright place to be. I love that it gets the morning light.

I took a few pics to show you my farmhouse style table a little better.

It is a petite farmhouse table.
I do not have room for a ten or twelve foot table! ha!
Though I wish I did.

The everyday kitchen eating area opens into the great room.
The formal dining room is on the other side of the kitchen.

(oops. I see a laptop cord under the side table. ha!) Real Life!

The thing that makes my kitchen, and the eating area great, is the view. Take a look. The trees in the field are so pretty...especially in the fall.

Ta Da! The mini pumpkins are back.
They are simple white ceramic with bright battery powered led light.

I have roosters and baskets on top of my cabinets for even more farmhouse flavor.

I like decorating with white in my kitchen. White plates. White mugs, platters, water pitchers, and this year pumpkins. I think that the white lends a more farmhouse kitchen.

The funny thing is...my grandmothers and great grandmothers had fully functioning "real" farmhouse kitchens in their younger days of cooking and rearing children.

I remember my mother's mother telling me about having to cook large lunches every day for the farm hands who worked on their farm.

And her story about neck-wringing and plucking of chickens. Ugg.
To this day I buy chicken parts! ha!

My kitchen only looks like a farmhouse kitchen.
No real farmhouse activities happen here. ha!
