A Simple Vignette

March 8, 2016
This mirrored tray, a snag from TJMx once upon a time, has been such a fun piece. Feeling the need to move and mix things around I pulled the hurricanes and jar off of the coffee table and placed them on a pedestal table in front of the window.
I love taking photos and seeing how light changes the mood of a photo.
One of the reasons I love this little mirrored tray...is that it is something unexpected. The contemporary circles are a bit different for me in my traditional house. I think of this tray as a fresh change among my other items.
And here is what the coffee table looks like after I took the hurricanes and jar off of it. Both tables look better! I have had this little coffee table since 1976. It was our first piece of nice furniture post grad school. The flip up parts of the table are drooping...but then this table has survived a couple of kids, and many years. It is just a sentimental piece for me.
I had the coffee table completely covered when everything was on it. I did that when I was using my blue and white for Christmas...I really loaded up the coffee table. It was time to redo things!
Sometimes I prefer to have simple vignettes on my tabletops. And sometimes I have to step back and see if I need to remove an item or two. It is easy to go to far...and end up with a cluttered look.

Hope you enjoyed a peek at my re-arranging!

Thanks for visiting!
Sheila
