A Christmas Bowl

I bought a new bowl.
Look what I did with it!
I know I said that I was not going to buy any Christmas decorations this year, but I did buy this bowl. Because I can use it year round I thought maybe I could get by with it. :-)
This is a cast metal bowl...and when I spotted it at Interior Yardage in Lexington...I really wanted this for the house. I was imagining using this in several ways around the house. So, it came home with me. I immediately put a few ornaments in it to check out how something would look. I knew it was a good purchase!

Next, I added a few pine cones and faux fruit. Yes. I love my bowl.

Take a look at what I did here.
First I put a table runner on the dining table.
Next I put a six foot long garland down the middle of the table.
Next I put my new bowl in the middle of the table and garland.
Then I added red satin ribbon in the greenery and bowl.
This takes up too much room to sit at the table and eat, but for a buffet, or just to look pretty it think it works pretty well.

I do not know why I have never used a garland on a table before, but I like it. Have you ever done this? Used a garland for centerpiece decoration?
