Bringing a touch of Christmas to the Coffee Table...
I don't know if you remember but earlier I said that I was going to use "sparkle and shine" for my Christmas theme this year. Here is a little table vignette that I created on the great room coffee table that has some "sparkle and shine."
I started with a Lenox square pearl edged bowl. (Alternative metal.) Then I put my silver and mercury glass ornaments as well as a few plain old plastic ball ornaments. Mixing high and low works! Don't be afraid to try.I added a couple of mercury glass votives for a little bit of twinkle at night.
I tied holly stems with red ribbon.
And here are my very tall candlesticks with very tall glass hurricanes. They are from Williams- Sonoma Home several years ago, and they have been a great purchase. I decided to go a little crazy and tie wide satin ribbon around them.
This table is in the great room which has gold walls and a black wool rug. The red seems to work fine in this room. I tried to use gold ribbons and such...but I just need the punch of color that red has.
The glass ornaments are almost too heavy for the Christmas tree...so displaying them in a bowl lets me show them off a little better, and safely. (We have already broken a couple of red glass ornaments this week. oops!) This is just a collection of ornaments from here and there but I like them.
Have you ever just added ornaments to a bowl or platter for Christmas? It is a simple thing to do, but it can make a really nice display. My daughter has a bowl that she uses to display vintage Christmas ornaments.
Where do you display ornaments besides the Christmas tree? I am always looking for new ideas. Do tell.
Thanks so much for spending a few minutes with me today....I appreciate it so much.
Until the next time,
