Kentucky Landscape, Sunflowers and Pretty Trees

What a wonderful time to be in Kentucky. The hot sticky summer is beginning to fade. The mornings are cooler, but the afternoons are warmer. Perfect fall weather! A light sweater in the morning ends up being tied around the shoulders later in the day.

Our daughter and son-in-law ran a race last weekend in Jessamine County Kentucky. It was on a beautiful farm that had running / walking paths. My son-in-law took a couple of pics and I wanted to share them with you.

Take a look at the beautiful barn. Yes...we have some gorgeous barns in our state. Some of the barns would rival custom estate homes.

The sunflowers would almost make one think that they were in Provence...except for the barn and grass that are for central markers of Kentucky landscape.

We may be in the final weeks of color here in Kentucky. The easy breezes are making the colorful leaves begin to float and fly to the ground. The hills are beginning to blaze with golds and oranges.

A friend of mine posted a beautiful picture of the turning leaves. I told her that it was too pretty not to share. Thank you Suzanne.

I have not done much of anything creative this week. I have a sewing project in my mind, but I am not ready to get started. I think I am in a "slow down and enjoy the fall weather" frame of mind this week.

Does it count if someone else did projects for me. My son-in-law, the professor, hung some wide slatted blinds in the garage for me. Then he hung a custom window treatment that I had made in Lexington at Interior Yardage on Southland drive. It is perfect. The workmanship is perfect. Son-in-law installed it perfectly. I love it. Pictures will come later as I get that bedroom fixed up for show and tell. Here is a little peek! (I had to use a flash to get this the color is a little off. It is so hard to get pictures of windows.)

Have a glorious week. If things are cooling off in your area take a deep breath, exhale, then relax. Take some time to sit on the porch. Enjoy the change of seasons. It is not required that you be productive every single minute!

I will touch bases with you in a few days.
Thanks for visiting!
