Some of My Dish Collection

Dishes…Finally Found

This is my continuing story of found treasures. I was so happy to open a packing box to find several old treasures. After over three years in storage I have forgotten what is in what box or tub. Low and behold…my blue and white decorative dishes.
I have several place settings of Spode blue and white which stay ready for use. But these recently found dishes are some that I picked up one or two at a time. They are not precious, or one of a kind, or old. They fall into the category of d├ęcor perhaps. The platter is Johnson Bros. and the smaller round plates are Stafford.
Here is the “loot shoot.”

The reason I bought the two plates with the farm scene is because of the little dog. You see I think it looks like my golden retriever…when he was a pup, which is about the time I bought those plates.

I am thinking of making an arrangement on a small wall in my dining room. The wool rug in the dining room has a navy ground, and my wedding china has a navy border. Plus my dining room and my parlor are both pretty traditional…so I think English plates belong in those rooms. The perfect southern touch!

I just have to decide how to hang them.
There are several products, but I want to make sure that my plates don’t hit the floor in the middle of the night sometime.
And here are a couple of other treasures from the box.
The vase is old. The picture frame is not.
Check back…I will be opening boxes all summer as we empty our storage unit.
